Feisty Pet
Pack Walks
The purpose of Feisty Pet pack walk is to create an opportunity for owners to be able to intentionally train and exercise (both mental and physical exercise) their dogs in a structured group environment at no charge. I believe as responsible dog owners we should be proactive in teaching our dogs how to be calm, confident, and able to focus in social environments. I believe that calmness isn't something dogs simply grow into, but that calmness is a skill that can be taught and practiced. I don't expect any dog joining our pack walks to be perfect, but I do want to see dogs behaviors and socialization skills improving on these walks. If your dog is currently struggling with leash reactivity or other socialization issues I encourage you to first reach our for help training your dog. Exposure to something will not train your dog...training trains your dog. The pack walk by itself cannot help your dog work through their problems if there is not proper training in place first. Once a trainer has helped you and your dog learn concepts, skills, and training techniques needed to overcome any problems at hand, you can use this walk as an opportunity to practice those skills in a controlled social environment and create good habits for your dog.
Anyone and any breed of dog is welcome to join us on our pack walk as long the rules of the walk are being courteously followed. In order to achieve a safe and structured environment, all participants must abide by the following rules. There will be no exceptions. Anyone who cannot abide by these rules will be asked to leave the group.

Rules:
- No dog-dog interactions, butt sniffing, or greeting of any kind before, during, or after the walk. If you are looking for a play group for your dog to “make friends” this isn't the group for you.
- If your dog is reactive, excessively pulling, barking, or are otherwise difficult to control during the walk, they will be asked to refrain from participating in the walk until effective training has been implemented and a certain measure of progress has been made. Keep in mind that the pack walk by itself cannot help your dog work through problems if there is not effective training in the place first.
- Respect the space of the other dogs and their handlers. Everyone is in a different place in their training journey, and some dogs may require more space to succeed than others.
- Kids are welcome to accompany their parents on a pack walk as long as they can respect the space of the other dog/handler teams on the walk. Kids are not to pet, touch, approach or interact with the other dogs on the walk. Kids must stay directly with their parent for the duration of the walk, no running back and forth along the trail. If your child is too young to understand or follow these rules I ask that they remain in a backpack type carrier or stroller for the duration of the walk.
- No retractable leashes or leashes longer than 6'. Your dog is expected to remain at your side and under control for the entire pack walk.
- Minimum one adult handler per dog. If you have multiple dogs, bring a friend.
- Pick up your dogs poop. ALL. OF. IT.
