A little about myself
My name is Lindsay Feist, and I started Feisty Pet Training to help people give their dog something constructive to do with excess energy. I grew up on a farm where all the dogs had 40+ acres to run, dig, play, and whatever else their hearts desired. When I moved away from the family farm and got a very energetic heeler mix, Hank, I soon realized how valuable it was to have a place where a dog could keep busy. I found that raising a dog in our small one bedroom rental with a tiny yard was not easy; I had to go out of my way to make sure Hanks exercise requirements -physical and mental- were being met. Thankfully I found agility, and both Hank and I fell in love with the sport. We not only had fun doing it, but since Hank had a "job" he was much calmer, more focused, and our time spent in our small home was so much more enjoyable. After seeing all the positive effects that having a "job" can bring to a dog, I decided I wanted to make it as easy as possible for an owner to give their dog something to do.
In 2011 I joined the training team with Pend Oreille Veterinary Service where I was already working as a Veterinary Technician. My husband and I also bought our first home that year, and with it came enough space to have my own agility course and training space, and I started offering agility classes part time. In 2013 I went from being a full time vet tech and part time dog trainer, to full time stay at home mommy and part time dog trainer, and most of the time my kids are hanging out with me while I train. In the fall of 2017 I partnered with Canine Companions for Independence as their dog trainer for the Bonner County puppy raisers volunteer group. I also decided that year that it was time to offer more than just agility training, and I officially added private obedience training, private boarding, and boarding and training to my list of services offered through Feisty Pet Training and Boarding.
This is my hobby that has turned into a small business. I'm a stay at home/work from home mom and I'm a one woman show, so sometimes it takes me a couple days to return a phone call or e-mail, and my blog posts will never be posted on time. At the end of the day however, I will always do my best to serve my clients, whether that's through training, or loving on their dog while they are away; because helping people with their dogs is my passion.

What others think
"Sully and I have been going for agility training for several years, and my girl enjoys herself every time. The equipment is really well made, and the entire class is owner and pet friendly so you can learn quickly and efficiently. I definitely recommend the class!" -Bronwyn

She is a much better behaved pup and we couldn’t be happier with the results." -Benjamin ________________________________ "Had a great time working with my dog Mackenzie in Lindsay Feist's Agility class! I recommend it highly to anyone who wants their dog to learn something new, and have lots of fun." - Shelley ________________________________ "Lindsay really knows her stuff! I'm so glad I asked her for help with my dog." - Karla ________________________________________ "Lindsay is amazing. I have a large, super lazy dog. In the span of the agility class Misha (my dog) and I actually managed to form a closer enough bond that she started listening better even at home. Lindsay was also able to help me work around some of my dogs quirks, and her professionalism shined during the classes. Plus I'm instantly in awe of anyone who can help corral so many dogs at once, and give instruction to so many dog owners at once. The class was an absolute blast and if time allowed, I would go again. And I would absolutely trust Lindsay with any of my animals if I ever needed boarding, based on what I know of her personally and professionally." - Sonja ________________________________________ "Lindsey taught my 4 year old dog and I some fun agility and was very patient and so fun." -Kari |
